Dyer Brown recently worked with DermWellesley, a new dermatology practice, to design their first medical office facility in Wellesley. The goal was to fit eight exam rooms within the space, while also providing clear separation of the different functions (i.e. medical areas vs. retail) and ensure patient privacy.
The space consists of check-in and check-out areas, waiting room with lounge seating, product display cases, exam rooms, patient restrooms, staff support areas, and a manager’s office. One of the challenges of the design layout was a long, narrow corridor with exam rooms on both sides and little access to natural light. In response, the design team choose bright, airy tones in the finishes, giving the space a more open, wide and cohesive look throughout.
