When RREEF, the real estate investment management group of Deutsche Bank's Asset and Wealth Management division approached Dyer Brown to help them reposition One & 101 Main Street located between the active Kendall Square and the Charles River, the buildings had little street presence and lacked a sense of identity. Street presence and visibility was enhanced with the introduction of new metal panel and granite portals at each of the two lobby entries. The design not only announces the entries, but also act as large scale signage allowing for visibility at night.
Inside the lobby at One Main Street, the design features a neutral palette of walnut paneling and muted upholstery which acts as a backdrop to a bold woven metal wall treatment behind the reception desk and in the elevator lobby. The lobby at 101 Main takes a different approach by relying on bright color and pattern. Turquoise light fixtures stand out from the pale maple paneling and an arrangement of rectangular recessed light boxes dance across the walls.
